Create an Instagram feed

Show your latest Instagram posts on your website. They update by themselves, so a new post appears on your site without you doing anything. About 4 minutes.

  1. 1

    Click "+ New widget"

Sign in at app.embedra.io. On your dashboard, click "+ New widget" at the top. A window called "Add a widget" opens.

    Step: Click "+ New widget"
  2. 2

    Pick "Instagram feed"

Find the Instagram feed card and click "Connect Instagram →".

    Step: Pick "Instagram feed"
  3. 3

    Log in to Instagram

Instagram opens its own login page, every time. Log in with the Instagram account whose posts you want to show. This is Instagram's page, so Embedra never sees your password.

    Step: Log in to Instagram
  4. 4

    Click "Allow"

Instagram shows Embedra as "Embedra-IG" and asks for one thing: "View profile and access media (required)". Check that the account name in the sentence is yours, then click "Allow".

    Step: Click "Allow"
  5. Heads up

Wrong account name on that screen?

Click "Cancel", then connect again and log in with the right Instagram account. Embedra only ever sees the account you allow.

  6. 5

    You are connected

You see "Instagram connected" for a moment, then you land back in the builder with your posts already in it.

    Step: You are connected
  7. 6

    Choose a look

Under FORMAT, pick Grid, Carousel, Masonry, Marquee, Dual marquee or Profile Card. The preview on the right changes as you click. Under LAYOUT, choose an Item shape (1:1 is square) and a Preset, such as 4 × 3 for 12 posts.

    Step: Choose a look
  8. Tip

A new post has not appeared yet?

Open Embed, then Source. Under "INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT", click "↻ Refresh posts now".

  9. 7

    Save, then copy your code

Click "Save changes" at the top right. The first time you save a new widget, "That's your widget built" opens. Click "Copy code": that one line is your whole widget. Next, follow the install guide for your website builder.

Step: Save, then copy your code
